The NFL has filed a motion with the US District Court for the District of Columbia asking the court to approve a “filing of an application for a public hearing and the submission of a proposal for a meeting to be held on November 4, 2019, to discuss the future of the league and its players.”
It’s unclear if the NFL intends to hold the meeting or if the request is just a way for the NFL to send a letter to the league office in the hopes of getting the league to reconsider the meeting.
A hearing has already been scheduled to consider the NFL’s request to adjourn the meeting on November 10.
The NFL’s motion to adjourn is expected to be filed on Friday, and it’s likely that the league will be filing a response as well.
That response could be as soon as next week, with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell announcing his intention to address the league’s players association in a conference call on Friday.
We asked the NFL for comment and will update this article if we hear back.
