BMW, which in May said it would use EVs for 100 percent of its production by 2025, and Mercedes-Benz are among the automakers who have invited the public to join them for a meet-and-greet to promote electric vehicles.

The BMW event, to be held at the Mercedes-AMG factory in Germany, will focus on electrifying vehicles and their technology, and will be attended by automakers from BMW, Porsche, Mercedes- Benz and DaimlerChrysler.

The Mercedes-AmG plant is expected to be fully operational in 2022.

The Mercedes-BMW event, which will be held next month, will feature a panel discussion, a discussion with an electric vehicle designer, a demo of an electric car and a presentation on electric-fueled driving.
