As a part of the Asian Sports Meeting, Singapore will be hosting the 2017 Asian Games on February 22 and 23.
Ssam Sports Meeting Singapore’s CEO, Mark Tung, has confirmed the venue will be a training ground for the upcoming Asian Games in Singapore.
As part of this, Tung confirmed that Singapore will host a “major” meeting of the Association of South East Asian Football (ASEF) in Singapore in the early weeks of February.
Tung added that the Singaporean association will host the Singapore-India meeting in February.
In a blog post, Tsung wrote that Singapore’s “national association” will host both the Singapore and India meetings, and also the Asian Games at the same venue.
Tsung also stated that “this is a huge step for our country and our country alone.”
This will be the second time Singapore has hosted an Asian Games since it hosted the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) in 2013.
Singapore hosted the AFC Asian Cup in 2018.
The AIFF has confirmed that it will host another Asian Games, which is expected to be held in 2019.
With the Asian Sport Meeting scheduled for February 22-23, the venue could be used to host the upcoming AFC Asian Games which will be held on February 23-24 in Nagoya.
Singapore was the host city for the AFC European Championship in 2018, and will host this year’s Asian Games.
